Jose Mourinho: Manchester United sack manager

Mourinho has left United on the back of a bruising 3-1 defeat at Liverpool
Jose Mourinho has left his job as Manchester United manager after two and a half years in charge.
The Portuguese, 55, won the League Cup and the Europa League at Old Trafford.
But United are sixth in the Premier League, 19 points behind leaders Liverpool, who beat them 3-1 on Sunday.
"A caretaker-manager will be appointed until the end of the season while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager," United said in a statement.
"The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future."

Manchester United have sacked José Mourinho following Sunday’s defeat at Liverpool, ending a tenure that began in May 2016.
A poor start to the Premier League season has seen United slip 19 points behind the leaders, Liverpool, and fall off the pace in the hunt for a top-four place. They have won only once in six league matches, drawing during that sequence with struggling Southampton and Crystal Palace.

Even a José Mourinho gripped by defensive dogma was better than this

The club issued a statement on Tuesday morning which read: “Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect.

The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future. A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”Relations between the manager and the executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, also seemed strained after the club did not sign a central defender this summer.

The club concluded that of the players in that position targeted by Mourinho whom they could potentially land, none was an upgrade on the existing squad.
A sense of disunity at United was encapsulated when Mourinho stripped Pogba of the vice-captaincy before a Carabao Cup defeat by Derby County and confronted him at training the following morning. The manager has criticised his players’ “mental approach”, attitude and quality.
Mourinho has seemed less than happy since the buildup to the season, when he described preparations as “very bad” because many of his senior players were resting after the World Cup. The manager demanded “respect, respect, respect” for his three Premier League titles following United’s 3-0 home defeat by Tottenham in late August but will not get a chance to add a fourth at Old Trafford.Sign up for The Fiver.

In two full seasons at Old Trafford, Mourinho won the Europa League and League Cup (2016-17) before finishing second in the Premier League last season and reaching the FA Cup final. In that period since replacing Louis van Gaal, United’s spending stands at £364.3m on eight buys.

Zinedine Zidane, available following his surprise decision to resign his position at Real Madrid following their Champions League success over Liverpool in May, has been linked with the United job.

hmm... who plays Chamionship Manager? can go apply now! :coffee::coffee::coffee:

MU should appoint one of their own. There are many ex-players turned manager/coach. ZZ was an excellent player but a lucky manager. I hope for Mark Hughes or Ryan Giggs with Ferguson as Advisor.

Man Utd sack Mourinho after poor start to the season

The Red Devils have won just two of their last eight matches in all competitions and sit 11 points off fourth-place in the Premier League

Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United following their disappointing start to the season.
The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the Premier League table but have already lost five times in 17 matches, leaving them 19 points behind leaders Liverpool and 11 off fourth-placed Chelsea in the fight for Champions League places.

That follows a summer transfer window in which Mourinho routinely complained at a lack of signings, with the Portuguese unable to persuade the club's hierarchy to sign a new centre-back.

Mourinho has continued to drop hints that he remains unhappy at that failure to spend big, and he now leaves after two-and-a-half years in charge at Old Trafford, with his final match in charge Sunday's 3-1 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool.
"Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect," a statement read.

Jose Mourinho ... to Real Madrid?

Real Madrid bringing Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho back would be a disastrous move - and here’s why
The Man Utd boss believes Florentino Perez will rescue him from his nightmare, but our Spanish Football Correspondent says that would be a Real bad move

They say never go back, but a Real Madrid return is a real possibility for Jose Mourinho if his Manchester United tenure is brought to an end between now and the summer.
Ever since Mourinho left the Santiago Bernabeu in 2013 after three seasons in Spain, president Florentino Perez has considered hiring the Portuguese for a second spell at the club.

He thought about it when Carlo Ancelotti was sacked in 2015; he thought about it after dismissing Rafa Benitez in early 2016; he thought about when Zinedine Zidane left in May; and he still thinking about it now.

What is Jose Mourinho’s net worth?

Jose Mourinho’s net worth is an estimated £39 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
However, the football coach will have added a substantial amount of money to his net worth following his exit.
Mourinho was reportedly set to receive a whopping £24million pay-off, according to SunSport.
The eye-watering sum is so high because of the new contract he signed with the club in January, keeping him until 2020.

His annual salary at Manchester United was reported to be in the region of £18million, or around £346,000 per week.

In addition to his job as a coach, he also raked in money from commercial deals with brands such as Hublot watches, Jaguar, Heineken, Adidas, Atlantis hotels, Lipton Tea and EA Sports.

Lol.... hope none of u clowns bought this clown watch

https://www.hublot.com/en/news/hubl...an-evening-devoted-to-duality-and-team-spirit

José Mario dos Santos Félix Mourinho, better known as José Mourinho, is without doubt the best-known football manager on the planet. And with good reason, given that many believe him to be the best football tactician of his generation, winning wherever he goes: Portuguese champion with FC Porto, English champion with Chelsea, Italian champion with Inter Milan and Spanish champion with Real Madrid. A unique list of achievements to which we can add two Champions League victories and an unequalled home record, unbeaten in 150 league matches over eight seasons and 183 cup matches. Add to that his exceptional strategic gifts and a deliberately provocative sense of humour, and the result is someone who deserves his nickname: The Special One.

“Today, I’m honoured to receive a second watch bearing my name from Hublot, and I’m particularly happy about this one. Since we started working together, I’ve been extremely impressed by the work ethic, technical knowledge and inventiveness of the brand’s watchmakers and engineers. Values that are very useful on the football pitch. And above all, we share the same passion, the same madness: football!”
- José “The Special One” Mourinho, Manchester United manager
big-bang-mourinho-2018-hublot-320.jpg

José Mourinho is currently the manager of the legendary Manchester United. But that’s not the only team he’s a member of: he’s been part of our prestigious family of Hublot ambassadors since 2014. This partnership was celebrated in London on 28 November at an unforgettable event dedicated to team spirit. With an interview with José Mourinho expertly led by Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot; fast-paced and daring patter from master of ceremonies Mark Pougatch and a surprise concert by international artist Julian Perretta, it was a colourful evening! The highlight was undoubtedly when José Mourinho himself asked the 120 distinguished guests to unveil the limited edition honouring him, with 10 Big Bang Unico Special One watches ingeniously hidden in the centrepiece of each table.

Instantly recognisable, this version of the iconic Big Bang design is adorned in blue. Why blue? Because it’s José Mourinho’s favourite colour. Known for his sartorial elegance, he always wears a touch of blue, whether it’s his suit, tie or shirt. So blue is painted straight onto the bezel and 45-mm polished ceramic case. Why red? Because, as José Mourinho explains, red gives character. The dial, with hints of red and black, is skeletonised so as to reveal Hublot’s famous UNICO manufacture flyback chronograph movement, the calibre HUB1242. The movement can also be seen from the back through the transparent sapphire case back and offers a 72-hour power reserve. The rubber-lined alligator strap boasts the same blue shade as the watch, adorned by red top-stitching.

A limited edition of 200 timepieces, the Big Bang Unico Special One is presented in a case worthy of its exclusivity: a box in the same blue shade as the watch itself, enhanced here and there with touches of black and red, sporting José Mourinho’s signature in the window and containing a personalised Moleskine notebook. Perfect for recording the future feats of The Special One!

nothing to show for and yet highest paid and no iron rice bowl - sounds familiar?
anyway, it was about time for JM to fuck off - if only to salvage the situation and have atop 4 finish for the epl as I seriously doubt they can go any further in the c-league - given the state they're in now
