Mountain climbing in China

it’s hot in yosemite in summer but it’s also dry, unlike the humidity and heat in sg. in california summers it’s bearable at 90f, whether at mount hamilton, mission peak, mount diablo, half dome, or loma prieta in san cruz. we can still climb with barely any sweat except mission peak which has no foliage nor tree cover at 2500 feet (see pic below). but it’s still hot under direct sun without cover or shade. a climber still needs to be prepared with a hat, sun shade, protection, loose and thin clothes in the day and layers at night. there are stupid fake “climbers” like you who get heat and sun stroke while just milling around in the valley or climbing 69m to see vernal falls from the base. for me, it’s very comfortable at 90f anywhere without the humidity. obviously you’re a noob and fake mountain climber. you need to climb the half dome or el capitan twice in summer to know what i’m talking about. i even climb in yosemite in winter with ice cleats and pickaxes, which is more taxing and challenging than summer climbs.

mission peak in fremont.

Visiting in Summer

View of Yosemite Falls mid-June 2016.

Yosemite Falls—and other waterfalls in Yosemite—reach their peak flow near the end of May, but usually remain high well into June. By August, waterfalls have little water or (in the case of Yosemite Falls) may be dry.

Summer

(June through September)
See lots of the park... and other visitors

Areas to Visit

All areas of the park are usually accessible by car by late May or early June, although services along the Tioga Road often open a bit later in June. Arrive at Yosemite before mid-morning, especially on weekends, to avoid delays at entrance stations and popular areas like Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point.

Weather

Warm to hot, with occasional rain (usually as afternoon thundershowers, especially at the higher elevations).
Yosemite Valley & Wawona (4,000 ft / 1,200 m): 87°F (31°C) / 51°F (10°C)
even at 10k feet, the national park service (nps) is warning hikers and climbers at half dome to prepare adequately for heat sexhaustion and dehydration (leading to muscle cramps and heat strokes).

A Wave of Heat-Related Incidents

“Additionally, last week, within a 24-hour span, Yosemite National Park emergency medical providers responded to three medical calls related to dehydration and heat exhaustion. In all three cases, the subjects had been hiking in the heat of the day. None had not been drinking adequate amounts of water while hiking. The three subjects reported various telltale signs and symptoms of dehydration and heat exhaustion: they felt dehydrated, fatigued and exhausted, hot and even feverish, and experienced nausea and vomiting. The subjects went hours and hours without urinating and when they did urinate, the urine was dark yellow.“

final stretch of half dome where most heat sexhaustion cases occur at yosemite. and that is 10k feet up the mountain range.

it has always been hot in california summers, climate change or global cooling. this week is no different. peak temp of 99f yesterday, 95f today. and this is only early june. i just wear a cap and walk around the neighborhood for 69 minutes. just drink a lot of water and protect your head with a hat. it was great and pleasant outside at 96f yesterday noon (will reach 92f at noon today) in pleasanton, californicate, unlike in sg where you stew inside your low ses hdb flat.

Lost the debate and now switch to California and hdb flat lol

What a noob you are!

Those people who visited Yosemite in July and August must be morons lol
as with all visitors touring any remote national park or mountain range, they are morons only if they don’t prepare for heat exhaustion and dehydration. and then there are morons who think wet rocks are cool to climb on, the (merced) river is warm, pools and ponds above waterfalls are pristine and still, and waterfalls are accessible to get close to. many morons died in yosemite.
