Motorcyclist hurt in accident involving bus

SINGAPORE: A motorcyclist sustained leg injuries after an accident on Saturday morning.
The accident happened between an SMRT bus and the motorcyclist at the junction of Bukit Batok East Ave 6 and Bukit Batok East Ave 2.
The motorcyclist was trapped and pinned under the front left tyre of the bus.
SCDF personnel had to use airbags to raise the tyre to pull him out.
He was conscious when sent to NUH.
An SMRT spokesperson said Service 61 was heading towards Eunos Interchange when the accident happened.
SMRT's Bus Operations Control Centre was alerted and immediately activated an ambulance, the police and SMRT's Field Team to assist passengers.
Thirty-five passengers on board the bus were transferred to the next bus to continue their journey.
SMRT is assisting the police with investigations into the cause of the accident.
