Moscow & Washington both sent down their LATEST & BEST war machines down to coast of Syria for a show down.

The carriers from both sides are newest and best. Named also both after their presidents Bush & Brezhnev respectively.

The so called democratic reform or revolution is actually a fight between big boys. Not under the table any more, now on the surface of sea outside Syrian coast.

Moscow have a military base there. If Washington installed a puppet there then Moscow will lose their only Mediterranean base.

Nuclear aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush has reportedly anchored off Syria. As an Arab League deadline to allow observers into the country passes with no response from Damascus, the possibility of intervention in Syria seems to be growing.

The George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group along with additional naval vessels are to remain in the Mediterranean to conducting maritime security operations and support missions as part of Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn. The US 6th Fleet is also patrolling the area, Interfax news agency reports.

Meanwhile, America and Turkey are urging their citizens to leave Syria. The US released a statement on Wednesday urging American citizens to “depart immediately while commercial transportation is available.”

Against this backdrop, the prospect of humanitarian intervention in Syria no longer looks like such an impossible scenario. And pressure is growing on the issue.

Paris is urging the creation of a secure zone to protect civilians “that would allow aid groups and observers into Syria” and is seeking support from the US, UN and the Arab League. French foreign minister Alain Juppé said he was speaking with partners in the United Nations, US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Arab League on the issue. However the EU stopped short of endorsing a French proposal for EU-backed humanitarian corridors on Thursday, acknowledging, however, that protection of civilians in Syria remains a top priority.

The imposition of a no-fly zone over Syria by the Arab League with US logistical support, is also being discussed, according to the Jordan-based Al Bawaba news website. A strong sense of déjà vu prevails, with the specter of a Libyan scenario repeating itself.

Rumors about the no-fly zone over Syria came in the wake of Tuesday’s United Nations General Assembly resolution which condemned human rights abuses by the Syrian regime, including the killing, arbitrary imprisonment and torture of civilians.

Meanwhile, an Arab League deadline for Syria to allow an observer mission into the country or suffer crippling sanctions passed on Friday without a response from Damascus, a League source told AFP.

"Until now, there has been no response from the Syrian government," the source said after the 1 pm (1100 GMT) deadline. Damascus has been given until the end of the day to respond, if it is to avoid sanctions.

Earlier this month Russia, the most powerful opponent of the West's push for “international intervention,” also anchored its warships in the Syrian port of Tartus. According to unconfirmed reports, the warships were carrying technical advisors who will help Syria set up and run advanced S-300 missiles supplied by Russia. However, there is no official confirmation that the S-300 missiles have actually been delivered to Syria by any side.

Meanwhile, Moscow has announced it opposes a military scenario for resolving the Syrian problem and the use of a human rights argument as an excuse for foreign intervention in the affairs of a sovereign state. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich said that “under no circumstances must human rights issues be used as a pretext for interfering in the internal affairs of a state."

Moscow has also abstained from voting on the resolution by the UN General Assembly Human Rights Committee thanks to "the humanitarian focus of the draft's text," said Lukashevich.

Patrick Henningsen, a political analyst from the US-based Infowars.Com online magazine, believes that the escalation of tensions over Syria between the world’s major powers may lead to a new chilling in world politics.

“I think we are going to see a new Cold War emerge in the next two years, and we are seeing the initial steps of that new Cold War right now,” he told RT.

“If the Western powers think they are going to get away with a no-fly zone in Syria, this is a very different prospect than Libya. This will be the first time, in Syria, and also, if you look forward – with Iran, that the West, actually, is engaging a country that has the ability to fight back,” Henningsen said referring to Russia’s close military co-operation with the two countries, as well as rumors of S-300 installations having been supplied from Moscow.

Experts say that even the armed opponents of Bashar al-Assad’s regime would strongly oppose any interference from outside.

“Even among the opponents of the ugly Assad regime, many in Syria will actually not welcome an intervention by Western forces,” even if it comes in the shape of fellow-Muslims in the Turkish army, predicts Dr. Pierre Guerlain, a professor of political science at Paris West University.

And Dr Marcus Papadopoulos, an analyst from Britain's 'Politics First' online magazine, told RT that any hopes of bringing peace to the region by toppling the current Syrian government are delusional.

"I can't see how they can possibly believe that peace will come to the Middle East with president Assad falling, I mean if we have a look at some of the people that the Syrian government is fighting against at the moment, they're actually armed militants, they're criminal gangs, and many of these armed militants have links to religious extremism, so once again, I think it's a reckless, negligence, short-sighted approach that the West is taking."

Earlier this month, Arab League foreign ministers suspended Syria in response to its violent suppression of anti-government rallies.

An uprising against the rule of President Bashar al-Assad started eight months ago. Since then, an estimated 3,500 people have died in clashes with government forces.

Dark clouds of war shrouding Syria

Hundreds of Syrians attend a demonstration protesting against Arab League's decision to impose sanctions against Syria, Damascus, Syria, Nov. 27, 2011. BEIJING, Nov. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- In response to the incumbent president Bashar al-Assad’s failure to halt a violent crackdown on eight-months of unrest against his rule, and in an unprecedented move against an Arab nation, the Arab League has voted to impose economic sanctions on Syria.

On Sunday, Damascus slammed the sanctions as a betrayal of Arab solidarity and insisted a foreign conspiracy was behind the revolt, all but alluding to more bloodshed could follow.

This has not only sent thousands of pro-government Syrians to street rallying against the sanctions which are interpreted as the clearest sign to leave Syria in the cold and more vulnerable to the outside assault, but has raised fears of civil war -- a worst-case scenario in a country that is a geographical and political keystone in the heart of the Middle East.

Syria borders five countries with whom it shares religious and ethnic minorities. And its web of allegiances extends to Lebanon's powerful Hezbollah movement and Iran's Shiite theocracy. Chaos in Syria could send unsettling ripples across the region.

As a latest sign of Western intervention, the nuclear aircraft-carrier USS George HW Bush has reportedly anchored off Syria. The ship is capable of carrying up to 70 aircraft, including 48 attack jets. The aircraft-carrier is escorted by a group of vessels which contains a destroyer.

As the deadline set by Arab league to allow observers into the country meets with no response from Damascus, the possibility of a direct military intervention in Syria seems to be augmented.

In this connection, experts are giving both a pessimistic and comparatively moderate prospect of the latest developments near the Syrian sea border. Many believe the U.S. redeployment of its carrier from the Persian Gulf to the Syrian shores is part of preparations for a military operation against Syria.

After all, these activities are reminiscent of a similar initiative when a group of NATO vessels were concentrated near Libya. Washington wants to collect a maximum dividend from the series of revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa. With this aim in mind, Washington is likely to start a military intervention even without UN approval.

But some observers also pointed out the reinforcement of the US aircraft-carrier fleet in the Mediterranean is more likely to be a bluff. Washington is building up muscle in the region, which is something of a strong political intimidation, but far from signaling an imminent military pressure, as the moderate observers analyzed.

Meanwhile, whipping-up tension around Syria is taking place along different lines as well. The day before The George Bush was redeployed near the Syrian coastline, the Al-Arabiya Saudi TV channel reported that three Russian Navy ships entered Syrian territorial waters, although the information is as yet to be confirmed by the Russian Defense Ministry.

However, Russia has voiced its opposition to any move to target Syria as the next Libya, say, foreign military interventions into the country, with whom Russia would consistently kept arms deals with. There is a Russian naval base in the Syrian port of Tartus, which is the only Russian military base abroad at present.

It is also reported that, due to increasing tensions in the eastern Mediterranean, Russia has sent its "Admiral Kuznetsov", the only aircraft carrier on active duty, and it is now on the way to the burning ocean zone off Syria. This also gives rise to some speculations that the possible encounter between USS George HW Bush and Russia’s Admiral Kuznetsov off the Syrian shores could finally ignite the tinderbox, threatening the already brittle tranquility in the region.

It is still a mooted point whether Russia could look back from the plow and come to a halt at the critical juncture.

America and Turkey are urging their citizens to leave Syria. The US released a statement last week urging its citizens to “depart immediately while commercial transportation is available.”

France is urging the creation of a secure zone to protect civilians “that would allow aid groups and observers into Syria” and it is seeking support from the US, UN and the Arab League. The imposition of a no-fly zone over Syria by the Arab League with US logistical support, is also being discussed, according to the Jordan-based Al Bawaba news website. A strong sense of déjà vu prevails, with the specter of a Libyan scenario repeating itself.

Rumors about the no-fly zone over Syria came in the wake of the UN resolution last Tuesday which condemned human rights abuses by the Syrian regime.

The Sarkozy administration, having reaped a string of “firsts” in Libya attack, has once again become the first Western nation to suggest an international intervention on the ground in Syria with its calls for a "secured zone to protect civilians", and first to endorse the exiled opposition Syrian National Council.

With Libya now in the rearview mirror, Syria appears to be the next stop. There is already criticism saying the “secure zone” proposal is a French fig leaf, and it could be a pretext for intervention, in an echo of the NATO bombing campaign in Libya. It is might as well taken as an attempt by France to regain some prestige on the international arena.

On this analysis, things would possibly turn out to be that: Bashar al-Assad is irreversibly to go, and a tacit agreement involving all the concerned parties will be finally clinched on the verge of bloodshed or, if al-Assad would never yield to the mounting pressure to step down, Western allies would replicate what they did in Libya, and Russia then would make an about-face from its current standpoint, Syria would be grilled over flames of war, with its people more suffering.

What's more, once the Syrian regime is overthrown, a Pandora’s box might be opened.

While one is always happy to see the end of a “brutal dictatorship,” how to end the regime should come from the people themselves. Being forced upon a speeded-up solution from outside is by no means welcome by Syrians as a good omen for a “civilian” Syria.

You see, it has never been us against each other. No, the ONLY war ever has been the psychopaths against us, humanity. In fact, and in spite of appearances to the contrary, every war in the past has always been 'them' against 'us'.

THE problem is that we let the psychopaths decide who is 'us', and who is 'them'.

For my part, i am with humans. This makes me 'against' them, the psychopaths. They won't understand that, being so blinded by their own surety of purity they are certain that everyone wants to be them, but even the psychopaths will understand that right now, a state of grace exists.

This is a special time, to the educated palate the karios of the moment imparts a dark, and bitter-sweet flavor.

At this juncture, humanity, the whole stinking roiling contentious disparate, and dysfunctional mass of us, over these next few precious months, needs to learn to ALL live together, for surely, if we let the psychopaths begin this next war, we will ALL die together.

This one thing is true: they are not in control, you are. Remember, if this shit war happens, it is your fault.

Peace needs very delicate and very fundamental basis. Once that break it only means war like it or not.

In my view the hardest most lack is resources for survival of 7 billion population level on this limited planet, which we had already drawn EXTRA heavily on OVERDRAFT. There is HUGE DEFICIT that had be filled.:( That all happened before we were born.

When the absolutely limited amount of space / resources / chance of survival on this planet was shared only by 1billion about a century ago, we were already having many bloodshed and slaughtering wars then. When we reached 7 billion, can we expect the luxury of peace? Seriously?:*:;)

I am not so naive to imagine that.

Just make the years of WW1 & WW2 on the charts of world population. Then you will see that they are on the steepest slops of the gradiant of population growth. So growth mean world wars.

It is only natural that the strongest and best humans lead and survive this world via war, just like any other forms of lives in this world. It is faults of those who expected peaceful means to be able to work against the natural functions of the world made by god, and substitute god's original design by silly human designs.

By god's original design plants and animals kill each other naturally for their own survivals. It was since before Jurassic times and will still be so if there a future of any lives on earth. If there would be a mass extinction it is the fault of only humans who altered the world to suit themselves according to their own blinded and limited intelligence and greed, against god's original design.

Humans implemented their crude designs without knowing flaws and limitations myopically or blindly.

Part of that silly idea is to think war is by psychopaths! It is rather that peace is by psychopaths!

Unless you proved that there is peaceful talks or election in the oceans to decide which fish feeds the sharks, or which deer feeds the lions on the lands, and all that exist before human came to earth. Otherwise please wake up and learn about grave mistakes and completely wrong expectations!

Sibei goot perspective. Newbie to Newbie. I suggest you edit your post before someone wakes up. :p:p:p

It is more than obvious that this world is designed to settle survival by forces and only that. It is so since before human arrived. It should be still so after human extinction. In a broader sense physical forces settles everything weather there is any live or not. If the earth's giant plates squeezed against each other by forces, there will be a mountain created, there will be quakes and there will be volcanic eruptions. Forces of gravity make rocks settle on where they are, make water flow where they can go, weather that cause floods or dryness, live or death there is only natural forces that rules everything.

Smart IDIOT humans tried to change the simple rules which they are supposed to have learned to comply.

The fish which swims faster than sharks are not eaten by sharks. Those which sharks can catch are supposed to feed sharks. Nothing except stupid humans contradicts themselves by catching and eating sharks and then say they want to protect and preserve sharks as well. :D Without these humans there is no controversy at all when living everything consumes whatever they are supposed to. And problems are only created by these idiots who thinks that they are the most intelligence and want to play god. :D

Peace is nothing but another silly product of human. There is peace on earth when every hungry animals are fed and satisfied. There is no peace when their needs are not satisfied, and if death is the necessary settlement they accept it. Then peace returned again. Stupid humans failed to understand and try to alter things perfectly designed by god.

Russian vs U.S!!!The show down of 2 military giant!!!

As the US power slides downwards, their rivals will move up and take newer positions. Changing their postures and show their advantages over the US. This can either take a longer process or switched quickly into war mode to get the settlement. These process can not be substituted by anything civilised. There are real territorial control and strategic interest changing hands. We are talking about oil and minerals we are talking about trillions of dollars. We are talking about lives and deaths not just some Olympic egos.

Superpower throne is changing hands that and is very big stake. No a light and relaxing matter at all.

World is seeing matches very close to a very short fuse of this WW3 bomb.

Factors are not limited to these:
  1. Bad world economy. Many thugs are desperate and bankrupted. They have no money to pay huge debts but have lot of expensive nukes still unused. These are their FINAL NATIONAL RESERVES.
  2. Shift of Strategic Positions of Balance, new emerging powers like PRC & strength renewed Russia vs war & 911 weakened and bankrupted USA.
  3. Desperate situations on costly energy resources & minerals.
  4. High stress from over-population at 7 billion.
  5. Revolutions / coups / ousters / forced resignations of govt in many countries.
  6. Hyper-Inflation jobs & wages tension in most parts of the world.
  7. Huge global environmental crisis have no realistic solution.
  8. Academic & Scientific experts predicted mass extinction of human.
  9. Religions & Ethnics are not at good peace.
  10. Everyone just wants more these days and are intolerant of each other.

Russia Considers Blocking NATO Supply Routes

By ALAN CULLISON

MOSCOW—Russia said it may not let NATO use its territory to supply troops in Afghanistan if the alliance doesn't seriously consider its objections to a U.S.-led missile shield for Europe, Russia's ambassador to NATO said Monday.

Russia has stepped up its objections to the antimissile system in Europe, threatening last week to deploy its own ballistic missiles on the border of the European Union to counter the move. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization says the shield is meant to thwart an attack from a rogue state such as Iran, that it poses no threat to Russia, and that the alliance will go ahead with the plan despite Moscow's objections.

If NATO doesn't give a serious response, "we have to address matters in relations in other areas," Russian news services reported Dmitri Rogozin, ambassador to NATO, as saying. He added that Russia's cooperation on Afghanistan may be an area for review, the news services reported.

Threats to the NATO supply line through Russia come at an awkward time for the alliance. NATO has become increasingly reliant on the Russian route as problems in Pakistan—its primary supply route—have escalated. Over the weekend, Pakistan closed its border to trucks delivering supplies in response to coalition airstrikes Saturday that killed 25 Pakistani soldiers.

NATO began shipping its supplies through Russia in 2009, after the so-called reset in relations between Moscow and the U.S., allowing the alliance a safer route for supplies into Afghanistan. But U.S.-Russian relations have been strained lately by the approach of elections in both countries. In the past week, the Kremlin has sharply stepped up its anti-Western rhetoric ahead of parliamentary elections on Dec. 4.

Ivan Safranchuk, deputy director of the Moscow-based Institute of Contemporary International Studies, said Russia is unlikely to cut off the flow of NATO supplies to Afghanistan as an immediate response to missile-defense decisions. But Russia does want its objections to the missile shield to be taken more seriously, he said.

"If the U.S. is not responsive, then a cutoff could be a reality at some point," Mr. Safranchuk said. "Russia would like the U.S. to be more serious about Russian concerns."

An additional factor for WW3 short-fused-bomb is the year 2012 itself.

It is the election year for many countries which makes the politicians aggressive and egoistic in competitive mode. I will say it is related to the politicians & passionate supporters' Adrenaline & Testosterone levels at play.

They will get hot headed under the stress of national crisis and political contest at home facing competitors.

There will be at least 2 rivalling presidential candidates from different parties each at Washington DC & Moscow respectively plus their respective VP candidates. There will be additional candidates if 3-corners appears, and FORGET about 4 TANs running for Prataman's seat. :p

These hostile political atmosphere are already visibly at work right now. We see huge powerful war machineries & combat warriors being deployed on the orders of their presidents. All you need now is just some fingers pressing the FIRE buttons.:eek:
