Lim Swee Say ‘happy’ that productivity mindset is gaining ‘momentum’
December 23rd, 2010 | Author: Editorial

PAP Minister without portfolio and Secretary-General of its trade union NTUC has expressed his ‘happiness’ that Singapore workers are becoming more ‘productive’.

With the economy back on track, the focus now is on boosting labor productivity which grew by 6.3 percent in the third quarter of 2010.

Speaking to state media Channel News Asia, Mr Lim urged Singaporeans to “continue to pursue breakthrough in innovation.”

“I am happy to see that this productivity and innovation mindset is gaining momentum throughout the economy, from manufacturing to services, and tripartite partners will continue to pursue this for the top tier and bottom tier of workers so that we have sustainable growth as well as inclusive growth,” he was quoted as saying.

Under the PAP regime’s unique ‘tripartism’, there are no independent trade unions in Singapore to fight for the interests of Singapore workers with all of them being subsumed under the umbrella of NTUC which is always headed by a PAP minister.

Channel News Asia, which is putting its cousin in North Korea (KCNA) to shame, was quick to heap generous praises it:

“It has often been pointed out by Singapore’s leaders that a unique feature that has helped the country emerge from every economic downturn is tripartism, the close working relationship between the government, employers and trade unions. This successful model of tripartism is also being called upon to play its part in enhancing the country’s productivity levels.”

With all dissenting voices quashed and no independent media outlets, even a catastrophic screw-up of epic proportion can be painted as a ’successful model’.

Haha

Top tier and bottom tier of workers.

They should be honest and use "elites/heavenly gods" and "peasants/lesser mortals".
