We all know the sad reality of Spore. So it is no surprise to us "lesser mortals" that things are not what they used to be.
However now the outside world is taking notice that Spore is back sliding

I'm surprised that we have been getting so many negative news about Spore

4 Asian cities put Singapore to shame in 2014 livability survey

We slip down from a consistent 15th.

Since 2006, lifestyle magazine Monocle has published an annual list of livable cities and presented 25 top locations for quality of life, where Singapore has continuously ranked.

The survey assigns ranks in terms of safety/crime, international connectivity, climate, quality of architecture, public transportation, tolerance, environmental issues and access to nature, urban design, business conditions, pro-active policy developments and medical care.

Japan bagged 3 in the top 10 this year, with Tokyo, Kyoto, and Fukuoka ranking 2nd, 9th and 10th respectively, while Hong Kong snatched 13th place.

To have quality living standards in Singapore one would have to spend a very huge sum of monies in order to sustain a better quality of life but that is beyond the reach of most Singaporeans due to the very high cost of living.

The only negative point I can pick on living in Singapore is humidity & heat & these only depends on certain times of the year. From mid-January to early April its pleasant to be in Singapore. After that its gets too humid. Then its time to pack up + work & move to Europe for summer... More

What's so importance about the ranking? Whether you are ranked number 1 or number 25 the most importance is the people must have well secured job, elderly well taken care, your children have a place in the U instead given to foreign student to study free, cost of living affordable and the people... Actually existing measure in reducing foreign worker quota and increasing levy do help to force companies to employ more citizen. international connectivity--many foreigners still don't know about the existence of Singapore
climate--- fungus and bacteria until got skin disease
quality of architecture---pigeons holes, HDBs keep on being repainted with obiang colors to cover up the shit design
public transportation -- got transport also got no good places to go, build for shit only
tolerance--full of small minded people
environmental issues-- haze every year, still got stupid people burning hell paper, littering, no solar power
access to nature---get mosquito bites only
urban design---traffic jam on expressway every single day, build expressway for shit
