A Mongolian employment pass holder who cheated a croupier at a three-card poker game at Marina Bay Sands was fined $4,000 on Tuesday.

Khorloo Khaliun, 44, a director at Mongolia Ship Registry, admitted to cheating Ms Zeng Jing by placing more money on top of his original bet to get a bigger payout.

He did this after the cards had been distributed and viewed and the croupier had declared the result, to deceive her into believing that he had placed a larger bet.

He also admitted to a second charge of attempted cheating by the same method.
