I was retrenched at 50 + managed to find a job 6 months later. I would say I'm one of the lucky ones who managed to find a job. I have full sympathy for those going through this process. It is not easy to find a job and even if you can find a job it is not easy to adapt to a new environment. The challenges are huge. Especially if you have commitments.
