Shanghai Daily, November 23, 2013
A woman was charged for forcing her 12-year-old daughter to be a prostitute, prosecutors said.
The mother, surnamed Gou, 34, a migrant from Guizhou Province, arrived in Shanghai in 2002 to find a job, the Minhang District Procuratorate said.
In 2008, she brought her daughter to the city. In 2012 the woman lived with her boyfriend in the city after she divorced her husband in her hometown.
In order to support the family, the woman sold her daughter to some customers for sex and told them the girl was 16 years old.
On July 4, police raided their house and caught Gou after a man paid 130 yuan had sex with the girl.
The girl told police that she had sex with three to four men from 2012.
