MCO= movement control order issued by Malaysia government to control spread of COVID-19 within Malaysia. https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2020/03/20/army-to-assist-cops-enforce-mco-on-sunday-march-22

source : https://www.unscrambled.sg/2020/03/...o-foreigners-instead-of-helping-singaporeans/

"As of noon on Tuesday, it is unclear if the restriction would apply to some 300,000 Malaysians who travel across the Woodlands Causeway and Tuas Second Link every day for work. " https://www.channelnewsasia.com/new...t-singapore-commute-covid-19-veggies-12546136

Each pax, PAP gahmen sponsors $50/ day,

So it's S$15 million per day,
S$210 million for the 14 day duration or more if Malaysia extends it even longer.

Actually, the total amount could be much more, considering the many MOM jiak leow bee employees salaries since it was probably MOM who started the evil myth of 'Singaporeans don't want this kinds of jobs' to classify such job types in work permit holder jobs so the salaries could be kept low, conditions dangerous (3rd World) and MOM receive bountiful profits (revenues) from selling such jobs enmass to foreigners in return for bountiful worker levies. Also, must include police and MSF efforts to round up workers still unable to find housing and house them temporarily at Jurong East Stadium whilst providing a care packages at the same time. https://mothership.sg/2020/03/malaysia-workers-jurong-east-shelter/

KYM?

No doubt that foreigners are totally essential to Singapore economy and national security as a consequence:

If this is going to be true, it'll be a big mistake by the PAP. It's not like as if those Malaysians are coming here to work for free. Furthermore, it will set as a precedent for similar future lockdowns by Malaysia because they know that Singapore will somehow accommodate their workers during such times.

Our government should never get involved with these situations, but to let their respective companies to deal with their workers. There has to be some sacrifices to be made by both the Malaysian workers and their employers. It's a lockdown imposed by their Malaysian government, not by Singapore.

All totalitarian governments treat foreigners better than their own citizens, and they do it consciously or subconsciously.

They are eager to score diplomatic points (propaganda material) and there is zero political cost for treating its own citizens shabbily.

It's not something that's unique to Sinkieland.

Got schooled by the new PM. Last resort throw money save face. I hope the hapless PAP learnt their lesson. Or may be not. Loong and Heng not look like they got much iron in them.
