Despite studies that show recovered individuals have at least as good if not better protection from Covid...

Those who have recovered from Covid-19 in the last 270 days will still need a valid pre-event test (PET) exemption notice if they wish to dine in at a food and beverage establishment, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has said.

MOH clarified in a statement early on Tuesday (Aug 10) that recovered individuals are not automatically considered to be in the same category as fully vaccinated individuals, as Singapore kicks off differentiated community measures based on vaccination status.

The task force fighting Covid-19 had said last Friday that recovered individuals or unvaccinated individuals with a valid negative PET test are considered of similar lower risk as fully vaccinated persons, and may dine in at eateries in groups of up to five persons, among other perks.

Still need to vaccinate

CDC: COVID-19 Reinfections Among Unvaccinated Twice as Likely Than Among Vaccinated

Study authors concluded that ‘to reduce their likelihood for future infection, all eligible persons should be offered COVID-19 vaccine, even those with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection.’

Study: Vaccines Reduce Risk of Reinfection

Those who have recovered from COVID-19 who have not been vaccinated might have more than double the chance of reinfection than those who have been inoculated, according to a new study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The study looked at hundreds of Kentucky residents who were infected with the coronavirus in 2020 and compared the vaccination status of those who were reinfected from May to June 2021. Researchers found that those who were not vaccinated had 2.34 times the odds of reinfection compared with those who were fully vaccinated.
Study authors concluded that "to reduce their likelihood for future infection, all eligible persons should be offered COVID-19 vaccine, even those with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection."
Researchers also noted that "the emergence of new variants might affect the duration of infection-acquired immunity."
"If you have had COVID-19 before, please still get vaccinated," CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said in a statement. "This study shows you are twice as likely to get infected again if you are unvaccinated. Getting the vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others around you, especially as the more contagious Delta variant spreads around the country."
U.S. health officials have long recommended those who recovered from the coronavirus get vaccinated. As of Friday, half of Americans are fully vaccinated.
But some Republican members of Congress, including Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, have not followed expert advice and cited previous infection with COVID-19 as their reason for not getting the vaccine.
"Until they show me evidence that people who have already had the infection are dying in large numbers or being hospitalized or getting very sick, I just made my own personal decision that I'm not getting vaccinated because I've already had the disease and I have natural immunity," Paul said in May.
The study did not examine the severity of the reinfections.

Only 2 days ago, Gan KY said that
" Those who are not vaccinated but have valid negative pre-event test results will be allowed to join such groups of five, as well as those who have recovered from Covid-19."
Now another flip flop as those who have recovered are exactly in the same situation as those unvaccinated.
They are simply pushing for vaccination at all cost
