MBS fined, RWS censured for flouting rules
The New PaperMonday, Feb 02, 2015

The Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) has fined Marina Bay Sands (MBS) $65,000, and issued two letters of censure to Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) for social safeguard breaches.

The gaming regulator said yesterday that these breaches had been reported or detected between July 1 and Dec 31, 2013.

MBS was fined $20,000 for allowing four Singaporeans and permanent residents to remain on its casino premises after their 24-hour entry levies had expired.

Foreigners are exempted from this 24-hour entry levy of $100, meant to discourage citizens and PRs from visiting the casinos frequently.

MBS was fined another $45,000 for allowing two people with exclusion orders, which bar them from entry, to enter its casino.

RWS was penalised for allowing two Singaporeans without valid entry levies to enter its casino.
