my dad is one of the rare ethnic chinese travellers to visit png in the 60s, and he claims the whole village would get out to take a peek at him. none of them cared much about his angmo companions as they had seen many angmos in their lives. but until then, that village had never seen a chinese.

he has pics of his travels, and they're tiny and terrible looking. he also has pics of topless malay chicks bathing in rivers in 50s malaya.

Sad chapter of Balinese History...PUPUTAN !!!

On September 14, 1906, an overwhelming Dutch force landed at Sanur beach; there was no significant resistance and the force marched to Denpasar, Bali, as if in a dress parade. They passed through a seemingly deserted town and approached the royal palace, noting smoke rising from the puri and, most disquietingly, they heard a wild beating of drums coming from within the palace walls.

Upon reaching the palace, a silent procession emerged, led by the Raja, borne by four bearers on a palanquin. The Raja was dressed in traditional white cremation garments, wore magnificent jewelry, and was armed with a ceremonial kris. The other people in the procession consisted of the Raja's officials, guards, priests, wives, children and retainers, all of whom were similarly attired.

When the procession was a hundred paces from the Dutch force, they halted and the Raja stepped down from the palanquin and signaled a priest who plunged his dagger into the Raja's breast. The rest of the procession began killing themselves and others.

A "stray gunshot" and an "attack by lance and spear" prompted the Dutch to open fire with rifles and artillery. Women mockingly threw jewelry and gold coins at the troops. As more people emerged from the palace, the mounds of corpses rose higher and higher. Approximately 1,000 Balinese died.....

The soldiers stripped the corpses of the valuables and sacked the ruins of the burned palace.....

Mass suicide and massacre by the Dutch Colonialists.....

The Puputan 1906....A Balinese Tragedy!!!

Some years back, my guide took me to a local spiritual show. The girl was in a trance communicating to another man who was also possessed. Both were in a trance communicating on a spiritual level. It was rather scary.

I also witnessed a show where the young were repeatedly slashed by a parang like our tangkees. Apparently the dance started very nicely until in the middle of the dance .Suddenly, all the young men went into a trance and they were hacking their back with the parangs. No bleeding and nothing happened to the young men as they continued to hack their back. It was very scary for me.

Bali is a land of the spirits. You must show your respect at every corner of this mysterious island. I was completely overwhelmed during my short visit there many years ago.

I love to nibble at a woman's armpit hair and rub my nostrils against it.

Ya same here, its a nice kind of foreplay. A little kinky some may say but what the heck as long as it makes me hornier.

But some of the smart native will prospers big time.

went off-season and almost had the hotel to myself and buddies. booked a room in the main hotel building, but they gave me a seaside semi-d for extra usd9. my bedroom opened up to a veranda facing the sea, and the stay was like in paradise. breezy, warm, palm trees swaying, waves lashing, hardly a soul on the beach, unforgettable. booked personal tours with the hotel, and was given an suv with driver each day for 3 days. only usd49 per day, and the driver would take you anywhere from 9am to 5pm. inexpensive.

The present generation of Balinese ladies should keep the old local traditions alive by not wearing any clothes while walking around the island..
The problem is that they have all these Western Christian missionaries who have been telling the girls to cover up - but back home their girls are taking off.

they are partly responsible for corrupting this beautiful and idyllic island....peaceful, serene and spiritual. a good mixture of buddhism, hinduism and balinese spiritualism....
