Ministry of Social and Family Development = screwed up in its mission???!!!
Employees of various gahmen depts are supposed to align themselves with the values and vision of the respective department.
In this case, the suspect wife who murdered her husband was staff of Ministry of Social and Family Development: despite working in the heart of the gahmen ministry promoting family development, she is now prime suspect for the murder of her husband... this reflects POORLY on the ethos of the Ministry of Social and Family Development: what qualities in Ms Vivien Teoh attracted them to employ her in their human resource department? Aren't all staff cognisant of the ministries work and encouraged to practise healthy family practises/ values at home?
Or are all civil servants just there for the $$$? All 'work' actually an elaborate wayang show...
This fatal quarrel speaks volumes about the probable incompetence of the leadership @ Ministry of Social and Family Development.
PAP's belief that one's dignity/ respectability is measured primarily by the size of
one's salary:
How available/ pervasive WITHIN the ministry HQ was information/ activities involving family bonding/ development conducted?
When the primary concern is the worship of wealth/ money, family becomes secondary: this was the probable case in the Yeo family involving employees of Ministry of Social and Fa!ily development where Vivven Teoh killed her husband Gordon Yeo, leaving her 14month old daughter fatherless...

Mr Yeo was self-employed while Ms Teoh worked in the human resources department at the Ministry of Social and Family Development. - See more at: http://news.asiaone.com/news/crime/wife-suspected-stabbing-husband-death

Did the minister for social and family development, in his quest for a larger bonus overwork his staff to the compromise of their family time?"If the annual salary of the Minister of Information, Communication and Arts is only $500,000, it may pose some problems when he discuss policies with media CEOs who earn millions of dollars because they need not listen to the minister's ideas and proposals. Hence, a reasonable payout will help to maintain a bit of dignity."
