Ordinary people will earn ordinary salaries. There's nothing wrong with that.
To make matter worse while they ride on the top earners the ordinary people are forced to compete with the lowest to make it cheapest, fastest and betterest.
If this is not greed what is?
The answer is simple. It's because they are of the same caliber as the top earners whereas the "ordinary" folk you speak of are even less productive than the foreign talent the government is forced to import in order to keep Singapore going.
In my opinion, Singaporeans should earn even less than the more productive FT.
Any statistics to show ex-ministers earning top caliber pay after they left office?
Raymond Lim or Yeo Cheow tong?
Leongsam said:They retire after they leave office. They aren't interested in earning top dollars at that stage of their lives.
However, there are many ministers who could easily earn 3 times what they're earning now if they returned to what they were doing before they went into politics.
That is stretching the argument quite a bit. How old is Raymond Lim? 52?

I retired at 40 so 52 is ancient by my standards. I had gone through more than enough stress. I worked out that I had more than enough to last me till my deathbed. I'm sure retired ministers are in the same situation after earning millions during their tenure.
They want to take things easy, earn a bit of pocket money and enjoy what they were deprived of when they held public office.
I can fully understand why they don't want to return to high flying corporate life or a stressful practice.
Raymond Lim and Yeo Cheow Tong retired at thie own will like you?
