At a People’s Association event held yesterday (August 1) at Bedok Reservoir in the Workers’ Party-held Aljunied GRC, media reporters speculated that Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say may be fielded in Aljunied GRC in the coming election.
However, Minister Lim Swee Say was quick to dismiss the speculation, saying he was there only to lend support to the SG50 event. Minister Lim Swee Say was even quicker to clarify that he has secured the Prime Minister’s decision to continue contesting in his East Coast GRC:
“I appealed to PM to please let me continue serving the residents in East Coast. PM has agreed, so therefore I will be surprised if, in the coming GE, I am not deployed to contest in East Coast.
