Minister Grace Fu
There are minorities and there are minorities. The Cabinet is a small group of people behaving as if it owns the country and the lives of the citizens. The government is a small group of people behaving like thugs towards the people who gave them the right to make positive and beneficial decisions that govern their lives. The State Media is run by a small group of people who decides on a daily basis the news fit for consumption. Yet, Netizens online who hold different opinions are considered inconsequential, and a declaration of war declared on them in the government’s attempt to stem the flow of thoughts toward alternative thinking. Welcome to Singapore’s world of divide and conquer, a world where only the selected elite can be that small group representing all others.
It comes as no surprise actually, not when the Pink One had said the same thing during his National Day Rally speech. Most Singaporeans know by now that the speech he made did not in any way managed to rally Singaporeans in the way the PAP had wanted to. Most viewed it as a speech that rallied for the foreigners and in so doing, the Pinky One was seen as planting a knife deep into the hearts of Singaporeans asking for better concern and looking after. It is no wonder that someone would pick up where Pinky had left off. If it isn’t Grave Fool it would have been the Keechiu man himself.
The PAP’s favourite bed partner reported this: “However, she pointed out that there is still a small group of Singaporeans taking a negative view on foreigners, and they are currently dominating public discourse. She said the majority of Singaporeans should speak out against such views when they do not agree with them.”
If she had looked into the mirror before she uttered those words she would have heard them rebound into her ears like this: “… there is a small group of Singaporeans, the government, taking a negative view on Singaporeans, and they are dominating public discourse. More and more Singaporeans should speak out against such views when they do not agree with them.”
What the Fool refuses to acknowledge is the fact that each active online netizen is a representation of many more for whom they are speaking up for and on behalf of. It can only be surmised that it was done on purpose with the calculated intention of deceiving an undiscerning public. Looks like it’s becoming with the PAP that the bigger battle, the bigger the liars.
Caveat Emptor, People Beware – do well to measure the PAP and its stooges against the promises they make.
For Netizens, we will continue to do what we have been doing for we represent more than the Pinky and the Fool gives us credit for. Going by last GE, that would be more than ONE MILLION Singaporeans above the age of 21. When we add those below 21, we are easily looking at an above TWO MILLION strong “small group”.

Minister for Law and Foreign Affairs, Mr K Shanmugam has welcomed the appointment of Ms Grace Fu as the Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Ms Fu was recently promoted to become a full Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and as the Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, as part of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s cabinet reshuffle.
Speaking to the local media, Mr Shanmugam described Ms Fu as a “tremendous asset”.
“She’s effectively bi-cultural and would be very helpful in many areas and also we’re discussing with her, I’ve started speaking with her on how we can share responsibilities.”
Mr Shanmugam added that Ms Fu will help in managing Singapore’s external relations in an “increasingly fluid and challenging regional and global environment”.
Ms Fu was lambasted by netizens a few months ago for complaining about her pay cut in the aftermath of the General Election last year. After the ministerial pay review committee released its report, Grace Fu wrote on her facebook:
When I made the decision to join politics in 2006, pay was not a key factor. Loss of privacy, public scrutiny on myself and my family and loss of personal time were. The disruption to my career was also an important consideration. I had some ground to believe that my family would not suffer a drastic change in the standard of living even though I experienced a drop in my income. So it is with this recent pay cut. If the balance is tilted further in the future, it will make it harder for any one considering political office.
Those words quickly went viral and drew strong criticisms from netizens. Within 24 hours, more than 1000 people had replied to her facebook posting with majority being very negative. Some even asked her to resign if she wasn’t happy with the pay cut.
Following the public uproar, she quickly made amends by making another posting on her facebook, saying that her comments could have been “misunderstood” and that she is “honoured to be given the opportunity to serve the people”:
Thank you all for your candid views. I respect all of them. I realise my last posting could have been misunderstood. The committee has done a thorough job with a substantial recommendation over a fairly emotive topic. I accept and respect the recommendations. I am honoured to be given the opportunity to serve the people. However, it may not be wise to call for the tradeoffs to be tilted further to an extent that it dissuades good people from coming forward in future. I read today’s papers and some readers make the same point. Thanks for your views again.

If the Govt had regulated the influx better and planned the infrastructure accordingly without increasing costs unnecessarily and finally not to go overboard (to borrow a popular term used among the political elites) in over-paying to get people in, the situation would not be as dire. She is thinking the majority, meaning the 60.1% are supportive of the immigration policy. The Singaporean persona is a complex thing to decipher but it is definitely a derivative from generations of living under hardship condition so much so that he can take a lot of pain and still accept the situation. He does not necessarily accept you in total but OK lah, he prefers not to change. But once the bottomline is breached, he can be someone who cannot be stopped, like the other 39.9%. The Minister is being naive.

Why should Singaporeans have more children when it does not make economic sense for everyone to do so?
It is understandable for Govt to desire higher population (citizen/PR/FT).
Higher demand for all sorts of services & goods to sustain/push inflation rate which results in National Income.
However there is little reason for Singaporeans to incur higher debts, etc.

In their relentless pursuit of Money, for every foreign worker brings in $x,xxx,xxx income a year, in what is known as being greedy; leaving SINgapore workers in the cold!.
That is why this easy money, lead to being spendthrift & hence the purchase of expensive office chairs, for they don't have to work that hard for the money. The saying, easy come..easy go!!
Rising costs start & end with the MIW's, control that cost ( by voting wisely), we would not be in dire straits.
