Instead of quoting article after article why don't you give us some real life examples of how the minimum wage has improved the lives of a community that you are familiar with or a family that you personally know.

All the input that I provide is based on my own experiences and I have to say that the implementation of the minimum wage and the annual adjustment of the dollar value have had absolutely no effect on the low income communities in Auckland.

The siren call now is no longer minimum wage. It has moved on to "living wage" which means that everybody should be guaranteed a nice home, a car, a flat screen TV and a Sky digital recorder so they can record rugby in winter and cricket in summer.

Will it work?... of course not. All it will do is shift the goal posts and everyone will be just as "poor" as before. When costs go up, prices don't stand still. They move in tandem often to the point where there is a net loss of purchasing power.
