A food delivery rider in Singapore narrowly missed getting his head run over by a minibus after he fell off his motorcycle following an accident.

The incident took place in Sengkang on Mar. 6 at about 7pm.

What happened

Dashcam footage showed the motorcyclist turning right onto Sengkang East Road in the direction of Punggol.

While travelling along the second left-most lane of the road beside Sengkang General Hospital, the motorcyclist failed to stop in time and hit the back of a car.

The collision caused the rider to fall off the bike and land on the left-most lane.

In the split second when that happened, a minibus travelling along the left-most lane was passing by and narrowly missed running the motorcyclist over.

The minibus driver appeared to have swerved left and hit the brakes just as the rider fell off.

The minibus then came to a halt.

The rider was then seen moving while on the ground.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the road traffic accident along Sengkang East Road at around 7:10pm that day.

One person was conveyed to Sengkang General Hospital.

The Traffic Police has to do something about motorcyclists riding between lanes, thereby preventing drivers from changing lanes safely along our expressways. The 2 biggest problem highways are the BKE and PIE where an endless stream of riders create their own lane during rush hour. There is at least 1 accident along the BKE every other morning which usually involves a biker.
