A migrant worker was fleeced of his entire annual salary by a stripper in Nanjing, the capital city of east China’s Jiangsu province, local media reports.

The construction worker was carrying his pay – 20,000 yuan (US$3,040 or HK$23,700) – in cash inside a zipped pocket of his coat when he stopped at a roadside stage where several women were putting on the risqué show at the weekend, according to Nanjing TV.

One of the performers invited him onto stage and while he was dancing, one woman apparently unzipped the pocket and took the cash.

He realised the theft shortly later and contacted the police while trying to locate the woman. But she escaped before he could catch her, the report said.

“She was in a car but had not driven away yet,” the man told the broadcaster. “I tried to stop the car. But, whoosh, it started off very fast, and I almost got killed in a hit and run.”

Public stripping is illegal in mainland China but impromptu shows are staged on roadsides or in remote areas. Performances have even popped up at funerals in recent years.

Millions of migrant workers are travelling home ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, a week-long vacation that begins on February 8.

If these women were imported as FT here in SG they would had fleeced away SPF CID's guns as well.
