Happened to catch 2 snippets on CNA.

When GY gave the press conference announcing that he would not stand for elections again, he mentioned that LHL's sorry speech at boat quay was in part due to a discussion they had about voters' resentment after LHL went to Aljunied.

CNA then cut to a video of LHL going up the platform at boat quay. Really "sorry" that I don't have the clip to show you here, but I nearly burst out laughing when I saw MG (Ret) Chan walking ahead of him. NPNT I know. :o
But if I could try to describe the scene, it was like a nervous schoolboy trying to show the guest of honour his seat on the occasion of his school's founder's day. The way he walked and gestured was hilarious.

Later on in the news, there was another report showing BG (Ret) Tan conducting his first meet-the-people session and later telling the reporter the importance of listening to the residents and trying to point them in the right direction.

Both men took their A levels at Raffles JC and went straight into the SAF, where they have stayed until now. That's where the similarities end. :o

Of the two, MG is more successful upto now...

In RJC, MG was top student for his cohort.

Both Economics graduates but MG got first class in Cambridge while BG got 2nd Upper from LSE.

In the Army. of course BG reports to MG

Now both in politics at the same time, we shall watch and see...

MG Tan is the most fake General after LHL. George Yeo I accept. Teo Chee Hean maybe--he's ok but I don't know much about his naval days. Chan is the biggest bluff of the lot. TCJ at least a bit better.
