ST reported that Seah's father hurled vulgarities at press photographers outside the Subordinate courts.
He also accused reporters of 'creating a big hoo-ha over a small matter'.
SINGAPORE - The driver who was behind the wheel of the Lexus that was involved in an accident with a taxi at the junction of Victoria Street and Rochor Road was charged in court on Wednesday.
Kelvin Seah Koon Yong, 30, is said to have been drink-driving and driving dangerously.
He had allegedly beat the red light and ended up colliding with a Comfort taxi at the same site where the horrific Ferrari crash happened about two weeks ago.
Earlier, a breathalyser test result showed 42 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. This exceeds the prescribed legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.
According to The Straits Times (ST), police prosecutor requested for an adjournment as the case may be handed over to a deputy public prosecutor.
Seah, who does not intend to engage a lawyer, will appear in court again on June 13.
ST also said that Seah's father hurled vulgarities at press photographers outside the Subordinate courts and accused reporters of 'creating a big hoo-ha over a small matter'.
Last Saturday’s crash came exactly two weeks after another collision at the same junction.
In the wee hours of May 12, a Ferrari driven by a Chinese national allegedly beat a red light and crashed into a taxi, which then hit a motorcycle.
That incident claimed three lives: those of the Ferrari driver, and the taxi driver and his passenger. The motorcyclist and a passenger in the Ferrari were injured.
To make the junction safer, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has synchronised the signals at the junction with those of the pedestrian crossing linking Bugis Junction and Bugis Village, so that they turn green at the same time.
LTA also said it will reinstate next year a set of overhead traffic signals which were removed due to the MRT works in the area.
