MayDay Protest Today At HongLim Park...From 4 pm?

The grassroots leaders, based on ground feedback, is expecting a small turnout. It would be a joke of an event, made up of mainly the same old people who have been attending Botak Gilbert's constant rants for the unemployed. Over 98% of sinkie PMETs are happily employed as PMETs and paid a wage that is the envy of all of Asia. Vast majority of Asiatics, save for sinkies and mudlanders, are paid less than US$400 a month for their work, assuming that their wages are even paid on time.

Hi doggie John Tan, you expecting a small turnout? What is a small turnout? 25 or 30 ?

Grassroots leaders expect around 200-300 people to turn up. We easily get that sort of numbers at an RC-organized precinct party.

Few people wants demoncracy.

Most people are happy with jobs, HDB flat and a car.

Demoncracy is not suitable for Asian societies.

For we are all taught to be obedient to the elders and the authorities! :D

If not suitable for Asian societies, then why are more and more Asians clamoring for democracy?

Are Asians NOT people too who enjoy liberty and human rights? Only Americans and ang mos are people issit? Asians are devils issit? To be thrown into jails if they so much as open their mouths to complain?

Which human being is not wont to complain? Only Ang mos can complain issit? Complaining is a basic trait of democracy!

Why NO coverage of it by ST??
Labour day LEEporters not supposed to be working???

Anson Chan, former Chief Secretary of Hong Kong, tells you not to insult the Chinese, by implying that Western liberal democracy is not suitable for them. She is also implicitly telling LKY and his Asian values to go fark spider .........

Foolish to say democracy is not suitable for Asian societies!

Do Asians prefer to be locked up in cages like animals? Or they like every human being, want freedom and space to roam?

Angmohs were not allowed to intermarry and mixed with the natives by the Orders of their Kings when they colonized 1/3 of the world?

What real democracies do angmohs have?

Ever visited places like Pakistan or India? They shoot girls for wanting education and career. Rape and violence against women is common.

Ever read about the Middle East problems? Democracy in the Arab world often leads to some religious theocracy being voted in, and seizing of power before turning the country into a full-blown Taleban state. It's happening in Malaysia too.

Ever visited Asian neighbourhoods in London or Birmingham or Paris? The Asian migrants there left Asia, but they want their Asian shariah laws to govern their neighbourhood, not secular European laws.

Did Anson Chan tell this to the Brits before 1997?

Was Chris Pattern elected by the HK people?

Did Anson Chan tell this to the Brits before 1997?

Why should she? The Brits were already loosening up i.e. democratising in preparation for the handover. No doubt, their intentions were not entirely altruistic, but they were moving in the right direction, subject to the constraints imposed by the impending handover of sovereignty.

Was Chris Pattern elected by the HK people?

Were Mao Tsetung, Deng XiaoPing, Jiang Zemin and Eleven Xinping elected by the Chinese people?

The two Chiangs were not elected either, but the younger Chiang paved the road to democracy. Lee Teng Hui, Chen Shui Bian and Ma Ying Jeou were all elected by the Taiwanese people and they have most of the trappings of Western liberal democracy, which were denied them under the two Chiangs, and the sky has not fallen.
