Changi Service Personality of the Year went to Maxime d'Alexandry d'Orengiani Michel.

SINGAPORE: Twenty-five Changi Airport workers were recognised on Wednesday for taking service levels to greater heights.

They were given Changi Airport Group's oustanding service quality awards and for the first time there was a new award to recognise contributions by support and maintenance staff such as housekeeping, trolley retrievers, taxi coordination and carpark management officers.

Age is no barrier to good service as this year's award winners show. The winners range from 22 to 66 years old.

Trolley assistant Madam Au Jock Lian, 61, won gold for helping a mother and her son reunite with a relative, who was lost at the airport.

Carpark officer Tan Sui Tiang, 66, bagged silver for helping an European lady find her car.

The Changi Service Personality of the Year went to 22-year-old Maxime d'Alexandry d'Orengiani Michel for helping a wheelchair-bound British passenger who was paralysed from the waist down.

Maxime d'Alexandry d'Orengiani Michel said: "Just before I was ending my shift, I decided to go over and bid him farewell but that's when he soiled himself. So I assisted him by buying new clothings. After that, by helping him to wash up."
