Contemplating to change the mattress. Prefer the firm type. Not those with memory foam type. Nothing beats a good night rest and sleep.

Recall there are those with "sleep number" type. Understand it's pricey though.
Recommendations welcome.:):):)

A good high end bed has pocket springs and is dependent on spring count. The more, the merrier. For hard bed, you can try coconut husk mattress.

Understand about the pocket spring type, coconut husk type?
Never heard of it though.
Where can you get it or test it, lying on it I mean.

Most people get back problems not because of the mattress but because the pillow height is too high forcing the spine and the back to twist. Sleep on one pillow below the head and preferably a thin one to bring the back in alignment with the head.

Also cut down the acrobatic nocturnal games on the bed.

coconut type comes from malaysia. There are a few factories with showrooms in Sungei Kadut selling it. Try Googling.

What I do understand is if the pillow height too high, next morning sure stiff neck.
Pillow type also got those with memory foam, cannot stand those that is too soft, the head sink right in the middle and next morning also stiff neck. As for those memory foam type. I think it's more of a marketing gimmick.

As for backache, proven point, don't put the wallet at the back pocket, when you are sitting down or driving. Major cause of back problem.

As for nocturnal games, I believe it helps with the back problem rather than aggravating it.:D:D:D

i think i know who u are. business is bad, huh?

Besides the stiff neck, did not realise the impact on the back. GP asked me to try it out and it worked. Told me he gets these complaints very often and the results have been good. First fews day it was a struggle.

Agree with the other points.

Just get a normal cotton-filled tilam.

You don't need fancy high-tech stuff e.g. springs, memory foam.

If you wish to make your back more comfortable, place a pillow beneath your ankles when you sleep.

An aching back is a sign that you lack exercise and/or your posture is poor during your day.

in the tropics, a hammock is best. and forget the air-con when you sleep at night. open all windows, and you'll be surprised how breezy and nice and warm the nights are in sg. occasionally you may need a small swiveling fan to keep mosquitoes away.

試試水床,超爽,你搖一下它帮你搖三下!完事后很快就会睡着了.

in cooler climates i can easily fall asleep in it. in sg's humid climate, my body especially back has a hard time breathing in it. keep sweating on its surface unless it's in an air-conditioned room. but yes, it's like floating in a pool.

I did some research recently. If your main requirement is "firm" type, seahorse is best value for $.

Thanks.
Have gone to one of the Sea Horse showroom that was located in Parkway Parade and tried their "firm" mattress.
Quite good, pricing wise, about 1.5k (before 20% discount), 10.3" type (height)

There are few other brands too, such as Sealy, Simmons, Dunlop, King Koil, Tempur, etc.
Quite a number if you ask me. Price wise, have not really go and check.

Existing one is Dunlop, pretty good, more than 13 years, little saggy though.
That's why thought it's time to change.

Have tried with pillow beneath ankles, don't really work for me.
As travel quite a bit, most hotel beds are pretty soft, always next morning back ache

What exercise would be good to relieve aching back problem?.
Swimming, Jogging (bad on the knees), brisk walking, cycling?.

Thanks.
