Trashy Tiongs have, ironically, ruined TCM.
Back in the day, TCM physicians worked independently, usually at a TCM shop. For your prescription, they will either pack your herbs or grind them into powder on-site, and mix liquid medicine into bottles.
Today, there are TCM franchises, most of the drugs are made in bulk in China before being shipped here. And some are mixed with western medicine.
