Even before merdeka, malayans headed to Singapore to seek game and fortune. It was the financial, logistics and port, trading centre, movie studios, universities, banks ( biggest banks in malaya were founded by ex OCBC staff's) ..

Malays go sinkie to become seamen. Crew of vessels. Some never to return. Become citizens of UK.

Chinese Malaysians are intelligent and hardworking so they keep overcoming the odds in Malaysia to become successful. Malays fail miserably when they have to compete on a level-playing field with the other races w/o any handouts like up north. Sorry that I keep making you look stupid, Pap Smear.
