Just transfer back. I have long time ago during atm transfer era. I received 2k from Don't know who. Then bank called me and ask me permission to wire back. I told them I check call me later. Then when I realised it legit wrong transfer. Then I ok for the transfer. Other people might urgently need the$ .

What bank can and will do is contact the 3rd party to verify then effect a transfer after confirmation. The bank can only do so much. They will also assist in investigations after NTU reported police.
This case the money wasn’t recovered as the bugger didn’t make restitution
