December 21st, 2010 |
Author: Editorial
With the next election looming ahead, the PAP-controlled media has gone on a propaganda overdrive of late to ’show’ Singaporeans the ’success’ of its ultra-liberal immigration policies.
The ‘flavor’ for the past few days is immigrants ‘doing’ grassroots work in the aftermath of a sex scandal involving a prominent grassroots and Young PAP leader of Punggol South, Danny Soo Ee Hock.
The Straits Times reported an Israeli new citizen Dr Ori Sasson who has been ‘volunteering’ at the weekly Meet-the-People session at Pasir Ris West for the last three years, using him as an example to illustrate the ‘contributions’ of the immigrants.
Not surprisingly, Dr Ori Sasson is a PAP member and Vice-Chairman of PAP Policy Forum

Another article today highlighted the ‘grassroots work’ of Singapore PR Horst Hagemann from Germany who spends a day each month knocking on doors around Woodlands to know new citizens and PRs.
According to earlier media reports, new citizens and PRs now form about 20 percent of grassroots leaders in Singapore, a development which a PAP minister described as ‘encouraging’.
As the election date draws nearer, Singaporeans can expect to be bombarded by more heavy doses of propaganda by the PAP-controlled mouthpiece which it regards as the only ‘credible source of news in Singapore.’
