many westerners just dont care. i did ask one here and was told they think the death rate is not going up and getting the virus is no longer a big deal. Here in Singapore it means death. I wonder who is correct here.

if getting the virus is "no big deal" please tell that to our govt - they will lock you up and give you a 10K bill for treatment

It is true that the virus is no big deal in comparison with other diseases.

Nobody is saying that it cannot be lethal. What is obvious though is that the measures to control disease are entirely disproportionate to risk posed.

In the best case scenario eg Singapore the mortality rate is actually LOWER than that of seasonal flu.

Dengue is twice as lethal as Covid-19.

We don't lock down the country because of flu and dengue so why lock down for Covid-19?
