MAS Suffers S$9.2 Billion Loss

The oppos should come put and ask for a breakdown of the losses.

Cannot lah. The trading is done for a couple of decades at least and would take another 60 man long years to compile everything in order. At that time in the 80s we understand that computers weren't very widely-used, and people kept massive records in files in cupboards and storerooms instead.

So are you prepared to wait that long? How old are you boy?

In the 1980's...lare main computers & mini-computers from IBM, DEC, NCR etc..were widely used bu M.A.S. and all the banks..

You kidding on this...

The losses were made in recent years...since the 80's, 90's, we have not even heard of M.A.S. making losses, and it would be unthinkable too.

The question is, their business model had changed, and whoever changed this business model, that causes M.A.S. must loose 'the head'...

If you say M.A.S. , the Monetary Authority of SINgapore looses money...you will get a chorues of reply...."you crazy"!!

M.A.S. loose S$9.2 billion...CRAZY!

who can make them answer?:D

I know that many have special bottles waiting to be uncorked when the old one ups the lorry :)

Too many Sporeans have been complacent & have ignored the opposition. If they had supported the opposition instead of promises of upgrades the price tag might of these "honest mistakes" might have been lower.

Its really up to Sporeans to decide if they want to vote in the opposition. If they do so I wouldn't be surprised if even more people step up to run

WHy is MAS investing our money? They are suppose to regulate and enforce financial policies only. Imagine the treasury dept in the US losing 9billion. There will be hell to pay. But in singapore they will just get away with it without even an explanation.
