A married company executive Jasper Lee Loong Kuan in Singapore has been sentenced to 14 and a half years’ imprisonment and 12 strokes of the cane after being found guilty of raping a woman who was heavily intoxicated and unable to give consent.

The High Court ruled that the offence was aggravated by the fact that the victim was unconscious at the time and that the assault took place within the privacy of her own home. The judge also highlighted that the accused had knowingly taken advantage of her vulnerable condition.

The incident traces back to September 2021, when the 38-year-old man, identified in court documents as Li Longkuan, met the victim for the first time after connecting through work. The woman was employed as a customer service officer, while the man was a client of her company.
