that's why chinese people all over the world identify ourselves as Han Ren or Tang Ren instead of Ah Tiongs .... :whistling:

Han dynasty territory is only about a third of the current PRC land area. Anyone who has played the Romance of the Three Kingdoms video games would know this.

This expanded version was inherited from the Manchu Qing dynasty: intermarriages in exchange for the loyalty of the minority tribes.

No wonder kena attack left right centre when under opium. Too big la....ok when u strong, but if u weak jialad liao. Even Japan want manchuria

Technically and scientifically...Chinese People are defined by their DNA and DISTINCTIVE facial features such as their rather uncommon striking and beautiful eyelids and eyes, the way the Persians and Aryans similarly are for their distinctive blue eyes....

The word Chinese actually came from Western and Persian traders whom dealt with the Chin dynasty 5000+yrs ago.....and thus the word Chinese stuck with such distinctive People of different physical traits but nevertheless, trade was far more critical, and was used as an identification of a different Race, but STILL are Humans, whom would laugh and bleed the same as any other fellow Human SHARING OUR PLANET.....

Chin Dynasty was founded by the 1st Emperor of China - Shi Huangdi.... who united the huge landmass and population under his control thru his wise and decisive moves to UPLIFT lives, such as unified language, weight and measures, walls to protect his citizens, infrastructure, economy, and more......

He had a difficult life as a child and thru his life experiences, managed to become an Emperor thru horrific Imperial Court's trials and intrigues.

But sadly, as he grew old and realized his mortality as time is limited, he became a Tyrant and hated for much of what he THOUGHT was necessary to ensure his reforms for the uplifting of the majority population...and worse, due to such opposition from others and evident intrigues to kill him, he listened and favored a mere court eunuch Zao Gao whom only knew how to please his masters, elevated the moron - a nincompoop, fecal matter in his brain but with animal cunning, to prime minister status and eventually led to the downfall of the Qin Dynasty, as the devil Zao Gao served Emperor Shi Huangdi's descendants as well.......

Eventually, thru Liu Bang, a more down to earth Human, managed to overthrow the tyrannical and despotic Rule of Might Qin Dynasty, to begin the Han Dynasty, with painful lessons learnt from tyranny, to instead uplift and elevate the lives of the Chinese People, and the Han Dynasty lasted for an amazing 400 yrs, a golden age for the Chinese People thru life elevating uplifting in many societal efforts such as in science, economy, trade, jobs, justice, peace, progress and more......

Over time, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts all, a truism proven time and time again. The Han Dynasty fell, but every Chinese Human will remember the golden age of Han Civilization, and thus the strong identity of Humans with distinctive DNA and facial features, whom will always identify themselves as Chinese, with respect due to the 1st Emperor of China whom unified their distinctive race, and more as Han for its golden age.....

Land is dynamic, much like how constituencies can be reshaped through gerrymandering.

Manchus are very nasty and tough. Tougher than mongols and turks.

For the few who visits this site, they many wonder why some here refer modern day China citizens as 'Tiongs'

Current Chinese People, mostly citizens of Communist China, only refer themselves as Zhongguoren (中国人), in Mandarin, the official lingo of Communist China, after the overthrowing of the barbaric foreign invaders of Han China by the Manchus, in 1911, as a means to unify the Hans, organized and led by the courageous and intelligent Han Human, the late Sun Yet Sen, who was a socialist and never a communist.

The only credible recorded reference of the word Zhongguo to Hans was by the historian Sima Qian, of the great Han Dynasty, using the word Zhongguo to mean central rule from Chang an, its capital and was NEVER meant as an identification of the Hans..... Sun YS used it only to remind the Hans of their ancient heritage....

When the communist party took over, identity was critical, as by then, the map of Han enlarged, with the communist conquests of other nations such as Tibet in the 1950s, as well as many other foreigners of different beliefs and cultures. Thus the emphasis on the use of Zhongguoren (中国人) in Communist China and the lands they took over......seizing whatever opportunities it can from the glory of the Han Empire to further mislead its people whom were mostly Hans to win their support.

The descendants of Fuzhou (Hokkien) and Guangzhou (Cantonese), where most of Worldwide diaspora of Han Chinese fleeing the turmoil of Manchus and Commies, lived in a Southern China port city and thus the opportunities to flee tyranny were there for them, when trade was opened up Worldwide back then.

As they spoke in their own province Hokkien colloquial lingo since ancient times thru the rise and fall of various dynasties in the history of China Civilization, those migrants in the 19th Century identified themselves as Zhongguoren, came from China, in order to identify and classify themselves for employment and opportunities in foreign lands.

Thus, in the Hokkien lingo - Zhongguoren is directly translated as Tiong kok nang - or Tiongs for short by foreign employers whom would prefer shorter names for easy memory, or in the often Asian easy manner of using surname prefix with an Ah rather than a Mister as used in the west, whereby Mr Lim becomes Ah Lim.....

The economically minded Tibetan, Turkestan and Manchurian peoples would be foolish to secede from a prosperous Tiong land.
