Man to appear in court for using others' data to register for 660 pre-paid SIM cards

SINGAPORE - A 42-year-old man is expected to appear in court on Friday afternoon for using the personal data of other people, without their knowledge, to register for pre-paid SIM cards.
He is expected to face 660 counts of unauthorised modification of computer material, the police said in a statement on Thursday.
It said the affected pre-paid SIM cards belonged to three local telecommunications companies, from 2010 to 2012.
The Commercial Affairs Department investigated the man.
