Man seeks ‘Bentley mother-in-law’ at motor show
CHINA Press reported of a man who was seen holding a sign at an auto show at Hubei, China, to advertise his desire to seek a rich mother-in-law.
The words on the sign read “Earnestly seeking Bentley mother-in-law” and an agreement with 10 promises.
Among the promises listed included taking care of housework, and will acknowledge all decisions of his future wife to be absolutely right.
He also promised that “should my future wife indulge in affairs with other men,” he would forgive her for three occasions.
Some visitors at the auto show said young people now faced pressure to settle down and “repay” their parents.
Some criticised the man for being lazy by not working.
The “Bentley mother-in-law” phrase came after a man from eastern China knelt down and cried in front of the guests at his wedding banquet in October, after his mother-in-law announced that she was giving him a Bentley car worth four million yuan (RM2.13mil).

A vegetable and fruit supplier was quoted as saying that Singapore imported mainly sawi, kangkung, siew pak choy and spinach from Malaysia, and their prices have soared between 30% and 50%.
“Prices for bitter gourd, cucumber, chili, papaya, watermelon and banana have also gone up. Other than price increase, supplies have also dwindled. But customers are buying less,” he said.
