Man runs off while trying on Rolex watch worth over S$40,000 at store in Far East Plaza

He should have engaged an accomplice who should run into the shop while the owner chased after the Rolex, remove a few more Rolexes together with the CCTV thumb drive.

Can run into Scotts Square which is next to Far East Plaza, the top floor of Scotts Square has an exit which leads to the rear side of Lucky Plaza and Mount E hospital. There's an open air carpark there, the getaway vehicle can be parked there in advance. Very few people there, unlike the bustling main street of Orchard Road.

What an idiot. This is 2025, not 1995. There are cctvs everywhere. How to run?
CCTV not very useful. Thief has the right idea with the mask and maybe later on a change of clothes. The downfall will be his phone. As long as he brings it along, he's toast.

maybe it's an inside job - claim insurance and resell the watch later on ??!!

so easy let anyone try expensive watches meh............

Cannot be ceca. If is ceca he be looking at his phone map. Ceca don't snatch watch , they snatch jobs.
I have lost count of the number of times that friends, former colleagues, ex-classmates etc. have shared their experiences of CECA managers laying them off only to be replaced by Indian nationals a month or 2 later. Meanwhile, that fucking useless Manpower Minister, Tan Shit Leng looks the other way.

you can't say PAP looking other way................they're just giving what the 65% wants..............

CECA is just as bad.
There are many documented cases of CECAs who shoplift from airports all over the world. These are well-heeled Indian nationals who can afford to travel by air. Imagine how the lows SES Indians behave at shops, which accounts for the heavy security at Mustafa Centre.

That place is a thief magnet due to poor security. Farking door open big big for people to escape only.

If he tries here, confirm tio nabbed on the spot..LOL:

During the early 2000s, my colleague who used to work at a boutique during his school vacation, shared that the only CCTV in the store was pointed at the cashier. As such, shoplifting was pretty common, with the more brazen thieves simply walking out with goods while the staff were distracted by accomplices.

According to former classmates who worked temp jobs at sports goods stores in S'pore during the 1990s, most of the shop thefts were committed by staff in collusion with friends who visited during the staff's shift.

Also, the PAP technocrats do not make decisions of their own. They are all plugged into the PAP hive mind. If pro-CECA and anti-carbon are what the PAP wants, they will obey and implement it.

A man was caught on CCTV running off with a Rolex watch from watch store HJ Luxury in Far East Plaza on Sep. 25.

The footage was later posted on TikTok by user @bruceleekoh, who owns a neighbouring store in the plaza.

According to Bruce, the watch is a Rolex GMT-Master II 116718LN, which goes for over S$40,000 in the resale market.

In response to Mothership's enquiry, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.

Ran off with watch on hand

In the CCTV footage, a man wearing a medical mask was seen entering the store at 3:24pm after peering in through the glass window.

A salesperson approached him, and he pointed to a watch on display, which she retrieved for him.

He examined the watch closely before handing it back, and the salesperson headed to the backroom to prepare it for him to try on.

While waiting, the man sat on a stool, visibly shaking his leg.

When the salesperson returned, she assisted him in putting on the watch.

Almost immediately after she let go of his wrist, the man took a step back, then suddenly bolted out of the store, leaving the salesperson shocked and running after him.
Guess the race, religion, nationality of the perp?

Had it not been for the assistance of the finest at Polis Diraja Malaysia, many of them might still be at large today. :roflmao:
