A man was caught on CCTV running off with a Rolex watch from watch store HJ Luxury in Far East Plaza on Sep. 25.

The footage was later posted on TikTok by user @bruceleekoh, who owns a neighbouring store in the plaza.

According to Bruce, the watch is a Rolex GMT-Master II 116718LN, which goes for over S$40,000 in the resale market.

In response to Mothership's enquiry, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.

Ran off with watch on hand

In the CCTV footage, a man wearing a medical mask was seen entering the store at 3:24pm after peering in through the glass window.

A salesperson approached him, and he pointed to a watch on display, which she retrieved for him.

He examined the watch closely before handing it back, and the salesperson headed to the backroom to prepare it for him to try on.

While waiting, the man sat on a stool, visibly shaking his leg.

When the salesperson returned, she assisted him in putting on the watch.

Almost immediately after she let go of his wrist, the man took a step back, then suddenly bolted out of the store, leaving the salesperson shocked and running after him.
I am sure he must be a CECA

lol
rbrbrbrbrbrbruuuuuhahahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaa

This shop 2 time ppl grab n go.
The shop no door open big wide space.

He should have engaged an accomplice who should run into the shop while the owner chased after the Rolex, remove a few more Rolexes together with the CCTV thumb drive.

Can't believe that watch and jewellery shops have not come up with a method to deter snatch thieves.
How about a remote control to lock and unlock doors.
Or put the counter where a customer tries on the watch at the back of the store, so the customer has to weave in and out of furniture and display cases if the customer wants to run out.

Identifying and tracking down a person via CCTV takes time.
The poodles will first need to obtain access to various CCTVs along the thief's escape route.
Then identify him via facial recognition.
And the police's database only has records of Sinkies, not of foreigners.

Therefore, Sinkies will be arrested and convicted, but foreigners will not.

First-class police and PAP crime prevention.

Cannot be ceca. If is ceca he be looking at his phone map. Ceca don't snatch watch , they snatch jobs.
I don't think CECA snatch jobs
The impotant point is local Sinkies Ameleecans, Assusies, Colonials have all stopped studying.
So they are not qualified at all.

But when CECAS start working and earn well, the uneduated locals start screasming CECA CECA CECA

lol
