Man nabbed for armed robbery of two women

Police have arrested a 36-year-old man for suspected involvement in two cases of armed robbery involving lone female victims.
Last Saturday night, the man confronted his first victim, a 26-year-old woman, along Sims Drive at around 9.30pm. He grabbed her shirt, pressed a sharp object against her shoulder and demanded for her belongings. She then handed her purse and mobile phone over to him before he fled the scene.
He confronted his second victim, a 22-year-old woman, about four hours later, along Aljunied Crescent. He grabbed her, flashed a sharp object at her and demanded for her belongings. When she resisted, he punched her and got away with her wallet and two mobile phones.
Upon receiving the reports, officers from the Bedok Police Division immediately conducted investigations to establish his identity.
