SHE was on her way to work when she sat on a wooden bench at the first level of Square 2 mall and fell asleep.

At about 6am on May 22, Sim Tiong Boon, 54, also on his way to work, saw the 25-year-old woman. He squatted and scrutinised her.

The cleaning supervisor then stood up and reached towards her left thigh area with his left hand. He reached under her dress and touched her.

Sim was jailed for three weeks last Friday for outraging her modesty.

His victim, who works near Novena MRT station, had felt a rough touch close to her private parts.

She jolted awake. Sim then turned and fled.

She shouted at him to stop as he ran and tried to open the emergency door at the end of a corridor, but it did not open.

She caught up with him, and he apologised to her and gave his details.

She made a police report about three hours later.
