Should politics be shown to kids in school without parental consent?

A close friend of mine is understandably furious. His Primary 4 daughter was shown political videos in class and not just any content, but what appears to be blatant propaganda from the ruling party.

All this happened without any prior notice or consent from the school. Imagine the shock my friend had when the daughter came back from school and told her father that he should vote for the ruling party.

Schools are meant to educate, not indoctrinate. Parents have the right to know when political material is being shown to their children especially when it leans towards a particular party.

After he raised the issue with the school, the teacher did apologise, and the principal responded that the teacher had been “advised accordingly.” But is that really enough? Where’s the accountability? Why wasn’t there transparency in the first place?

I'm sharing this because I feel injustice was done to my friend and honestly, this shouldn’t be swept under the rug.

Schools must remain politically neutral, or at the very least, inform parents before exposing kids to such content.

Our children deserve better.
Our education system should do better.
Police report have been made.
Disgusting PAP minister dispatched gangsters in plain clothes harassing PSP members doing home visits in proper party attire, teacher is just another PAP brown noser....

References in comments section of the video.

What would happen if it were the other way around, if the teacher were an opposition supporter?

Teachers are civil servants and their serialised votes are monitored by MOE.

Well, of course she understands what it means...ie. clear your tray after eating. But she was damn amused that it is called table littering...lol
Eggmy is out for a reason. Now no one remembered which party agreed to pass a law to get dinkies to do the job of cleaners at eating areas while NTUC or kopitiam laughing to the banks.
