Thursday, Aug 13, 2015
SINGAPORE - He made a police report about being assaulted and robbed along Orchard Road.
In his report, the 40-year-old told police that he was assaulted by men who then took his cash and mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
After investigations, police found the man's story inconsistent.
He eventually admitted that he had provided false information to the police, and is now being investigated for providing untrue information to the authorities.
If charged and convicted, the man could be jailed up to a year or fined up to $5,000, or both.
