Man jailed for selling non-existent Jay Chou tickets

A SALES executive who cheated victims into believing that he had iPhones and Jay Chou concert tickets for sale was jailed for 11 months on Tuesday for cheating and criminal breach of trust.
Yeo Poh Kwee, 39, who faces 12 charges in all involving $16,837, admitted to five counts of cheating and one of pocketing $9,847 from DryClean Express Services at Gul Link.
A district court heard that between May and November this year, he advertised on the eBay website that he had Apple iPhones and Jay Chou concert tickets for sale.
Five victims transferred between $700 and $1,050 to his POSB account via electronic fund transfer.
Two of them did not get their iPhones after payment while some others received pieces of blank paper via registered mail.
In 2008, Yeo had misappropriated cash he collected from customers of DryClean Express for his own use between July and October.
He could have been jailed for up to 10 years and fined for each count of cheating. For criminal breach of trust, he could have been jailed for up to 15 years and fined.
