SINGAPORE: A 57-year-old man, who threatened to throw his lover's child out the window, was on Monday sent to jail for four months and fined S$61,000.

Chung Kam Leong was also convicted of seven counts of assisting loansharks between February and July.

In addition, he admitted to one charge of abducting his lover's daughter in August.

In August this year, Chung was having an argument with his 42-year-old lover at Blk 211 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 at about 2.30am.

He got angry and threatened to throw the eight-year-old girl out of the flat window.

The court heard in mitigation that Chung's lover had used up some S$30,000 belonging to the accused.

The punishment for criminal intimidation is a two-year jail term and a fine. - CNA/xq

4 months and fined S$61,000...
I think he paid a hefty sum to escape long term sentence.
