SINGAPORE - A fight broke out in a public bus on Jan 21 after a man was rudely labelled as "ugly" by a woman.
Both parties were passengers on Bus 65 when the man noticed the woman staring at him. He then asked her why she was staring at him.
Angered by his tone of voice, the woman said that he was ugly, so she could not have been staring at him. The man then slapped her face.
The bus driver called the police after he saw the situation getting out of control. The incident happened at the bus-stop outside Lucky Plaza in Orchard Road at approximately 12.20pm on Friday.
Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News claimed that the woman who was hit was a hostess.
A witness said that the rest of the passengers quickly alighted from the bus for fear of getting caught up in the fight.
When contacted, a police spokesperson confirmed that the woman had been sent to the hospital with facial injuries.
