Man has parasite removed from under his skin after holiday to Belize

A man in the US has returned home from a trip to Belize with an unwanted souvenir.

Michael Fussell from Baltimore, knew something wasn’t right when he returned home from his holiday with a growing bulge under his skin.

What he didn’t know, was that it was caused by a parasite that had made a home in his flesh.

A trip to the doctor revealed that it was in fact a botfly, which was causing the swelling.

Mr Fussell had to have the a small incision made in his skin so that the slimy little creature could be removed as soon as possible.
