A MAN who stabbed another man on the back was sentenced to four years' jail on Thursday. But Loh Chin Shung, 52, unemployed, is appealing against the sentence. Bail of $15,000 pending appeal was offered. He admitted to stabbing Mr David Thong Tuck Wai, 30, and causing him to suffer life-threatening injuries at his Yishun flat on Aug 8 last year. A district court heard that Loh went to the flat with a 35-year-old woman friend to settle the issue of the victim's having had an affair with the woman. Both Loh and Mr Thong started squabbling with each other, leading to a a heated exchange. The dispute rapidly evolved into a fight, during which Loh took out a foldable knife and stabbed the victim. The victim's wife called the police. Loh could have been jailed for up to seven years and fined.
