Man found dead in Singapore River

A MAN was found dead in the Singapore River early Friday morning at 2am.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call from a member of the public at 11.25pm on Thursday, informing them that somebody had jumped into the river, near Collyer Quay.
The SCDF team arrived at the scene six minutes later and began the search.
DART rescuers finally retrieved the man's body at 2am on Friday, two metres from the river bank.
He was pronounced dead by SCDF paramedics at the scene.
The victim has been identified as a Caucasian man in his 30s.
