Man fined for threatening to post nude pictures of girl

A YOUNG man was fined a total of $3,000 on Monday for criminal intimidation and gaming in public.
Lau Kah Meng, 22, had admitted earlier to threatening an 18-year-old girl he met on Facebook that he would circulate her nude photos in the Internet if she refused to transfer money to him.
Out of fear, the victim transferred $30 and $40 to Lau's bank account on Aug 23 last year.
In fact, Lau did not have any of her nude photographs.
Earlier on Aug 11, he was returning home when he saw a group of people gambling with English playing cards, using cash as stakes at the void deck of Block 17, Marsiling Lane.
He joined them and was arrested by the police shortly after.
