A part-time housing agent wants Singapore Pools to pay him prize money of $910,000, insisting that he had won the top prize of $10,000 on each of 91 Scratchit! cards he bought.

Mr John Berchmans, 69, who took the stand on Monday in his suit against the lottery operator, said that he took the words on the cards to mean that as long as he could get three identical numbers or symbols in the game panel, he would automatically be entitled to the top prize of $10,000 on each card.

But the lottery operator says that Mr Berchmans, who paid $1 for each card, won only between $1 and $10 on each card, for a total of $263.

Singapore Pools says that the words on the cards convey the message that there are various prizes and the top prize is $10,000, and that one needs three in a row to win a prize, but not necessarily the top prize.

What has race got to do with this?

Mr John Berchmans is either a brave or a really daft chap... There's aboslutely no chance at all for him to win against Spore Pools.. No need to be a fortune teller to know the outcome of this hearing.. The Court will side with Spore Pools..

the court will always side with Spore Pools against Spore Fools.

If this fool wins, that will open the floodgates for imbeciles to hang out at Singapore Pools all day without working.

He must have bought a few tickets, scratched them and found that it was "so easy' to win $10k/card that he went on to buy at least a few hundred tickets with a total of 91 tickets striking the 10k. :D

wait his surname is Berchmans but how come his face looks like a shit skin? So it's one of those fake ang moh shit skins.

What a dumb skin. 91 scratch cards each worth 10k? Why didn't he buy all of them could have won a few million. I bet this bugger was actually in joy thinking he would be winning up to 1 million.

Thank God for creating fools like him. What a dull world it could have been.

He is suing Pools, I wonder who is representing him. Wait he kenna counter sue for sure.

Absolutely nothing. But if you hang around long enough, there will be a few thespians in this forum who will show the connection....
