A PATRON of the Resorts World Sentosa casino was charged on Tuesday with three counts of offering illegal bets in July and August 2010 within the casino.
Ng Ah Chye is accused of allegedly approaching other patrons and offering private bets while they were at the gaming tables.
The 50-year-old unemployed man told a district court on Tuesday that he wished to engage a lawyer and asked for an adjournment.
His case will be heard again on April 19.
If found guilty for acting as an illegal bookmaker, he could be fined between $20,000 and $200,000 and/or jailed up to five years on each charge.
